This period of chess is one of the most magical ones for me. Part of it may be the mystique that exists simply because I haven’t studied everybody from it, but I feel like it’s here that we start to see the true marriage of capablanca’s endgame technique and Alekhine’s fierce calculation with hypermodernism. New paths are being tread!
One of the first chess books I read had the game Reshevsky -v- Botvinnik in the radio match between the USA and USSR. It's still confusing!
