I think what surprised me about the Bluebaum-Sindarov game was how Bluebaum seemed ready to go for it in the opening and then just tried to pull the ripcord and into a scary looking position.

I’m definitely not a GM but I’m pretty sure I learned somewhere that once you commit to the opposite side castling and pawn storms, your only true defense is counter threats.

I think it looked pretty good, but double edged as queenside castling often does. It was really impressive how Sindarov played around his own c-pawn (I think this factor encouraged Bluebaum’s O-O-O) and a few inaccurate moves by bluebaum lead to problems where white was under attack. Sindarov is very dangerous on the attack.
